What are geothermal and aerothermal heat pumps ?

Renewable, inexhaustible energy

The Earth is heated by the sun and by energy contained in the air and rainwater. The soil around a house is therefore a reservoir which receives large quantities of renewable, inexhaustible energy all the time. The principle is to collect this inexhaustible thermal energy using a Heat Pump to heat a building.
Geothermics refers to the collection of calories from the earth, while aerothermics refers to the collection of energy from the air.
Geothermics and aerothermics therefore come under the category of clean renewable thermal energies which contribute to the preservation of the environment (Kyoto protocol, etc).

"Green" fluids

All the FRANCE GÉOTHERMIE products use brine water (water + antifreeze) or groundwater and/or R407C or R410A refrigerant, a substitute fluid which is harmless for the ozone layer (chlorine-free in compliance with the 2002 European regulations), non-inflammable, and non-explosive and has a lower greenhouse effect than traditional refrigerants.

The special feature of the refrigerant is that it has a very low boiling point (-40°C) which gives it a very fast and powerful heating capacity. FRANCE GEOTHERMIE was the first French company to use R407Cgreen fluid in 1999.
