Geothermal heat pumps

A geothermal heating system comprises collectors buried outside the residence (horizontal or vertical collectors, or on groundwater), an indoor heating circuit (under-floor heating, radiators or fan-convectors) and a Heat Pump connecting the two networks. A heat pump operates on the principal of the refrigerator, with a reversed cooling circuit:
- the evaporator (inside the refrigerator) which collects the calories via a refrigerant corresponds to the collectors buried outside the house.
- the generator with the compressor (the only moving part) which raises the calories in temperature corresponds to the heat pump.
- the condenser (grill at the rear of the refrigerator) which releases the heat corresponds to the under-floor heating, radiator or fan-convector.
